Upon the completion of the 2010 tax season, the VITA program conducted a total of 795 returns.
The total amount in refunds that the participants in the Butler County VITA program received were:
$1,337,124.00
A total of 336 participants received the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit, amounting to:
$447,237 in refunds
A total of 142 participants received the Child Tax Credit, amounting to:
$147,060 in refunds
A total of 27 participants received the Education Credit, amounting to:
$20,594 in refunds
The average Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of those that participated in the VITA program was:
$15,771.25
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program offers free tax preparation help (Basic Federal and State taxes) for low to moderate-income households (generally $49,000 and below). For more information on the VITA program, contact the Center for Community Resources at (724) 431-3748
